To properly utilize the power of this type of media requires understanding and following best practices for proper design and accessibility considerations through:

- Understand the difference between captions and subtitles, and Recognize formatting concerns
- Understand the laws on video and how they impact distant education
- Locate resources for properly captioning your videos
