Welcome: Meet the Instructor

Welcome to my ePortfolio. My name is John Marsh and I am the lead instructor at Cuesta College for HEED 204 – CPR/AED and Basic First Aid, this class is taught fall, spring, and summer. I also am a co-instructor for HEED 202 - Health Education in the summer, and HEED 208 - Multicultural Health Education in the fall and spring semesters. I have been teaching at Cuesta College since 2004.

While at Cuesta I have taught/coach intercollegiate water polo and swim & dive, multiple varieties of swimming (advanced, beginning, lap) classes, and weight lifting (power, strength, resistance) classes. I have also different condition (sport specific, cross fitness) classes and even a basketball class.

I am a former student athlete here at Cuesta before transferring to UCLA. I received my Masters in Kinesiology from Cal Poly. I meet my wife while attending Cuesta, so this school is special to me. Both of my children attended Cuesta as student athletes before transferring from here. My daughter went on to graduate from Cal Berkley and Law School and works in Santa Maria, CA. in Family Law. My son was a student athlete at University of the Pacific, after Cuesta, where his water polo team finished 2nd in the NCAA Championships in the Fall of 2014. He is now the Head Coach for both Men’s/Women’s Water Polo and Swimming at Graces Memorial High School in Bakersfield, CA.

When I am not working, my wife and I enjoy spending time with our family, friends, and traveling to new places around the world.

Good luck this semester,

John Marsh
