My name is Michelle Zulim- Clark and I have been an instructor at Cuesta College for the
past 9 years. I earned my undergraduate and Master’s degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
Both degrees are in Kinesiology. What is that, you might ask?
Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement. For my degrees, I concentrated on exercise physiology and cardiac rehabilitation.

I teach a variety of health classes at Cuesta such as Women’s Health Issues,  Intro to Public Health,
and Health Aspects of Drug Use. I find teaching a
variety of classes gives me a very unique perspective for each class. I enjoy teaching
health and wellness because it is so applicable to everyday life; you can really use what
you
learn.

Like one of my professors once said “you have a right to be healthy, exercise
it!”

Another role I have is as a Health Education Specialist at the County of San Luis Obispo, Public Health Department. I work with the community in Fall Prevention for older adults.  I have created classes such as Fall Prevention, Healthy Aging, Chair Yoga, Ballet for Strength and Balance, as well as Strength And Balance techniques.
If you'd like to know more, I am happy to chat about it!

When I am not working, I enjoy running (half marathons are my favorite), hiking, sailing,
playing on the beach and in the ocean, swimming, indoor cycling, ballet barre classes and hanging out with my family. I have one daughter (9) who is in 4th grade this school year. She loves art,  Harry Potter, and ballet dancing.

My family also enjoys watching all sports. Some of our favorites: football- 49ers; baseball- Giants, basketball- G.S. Warriors, tennis- Novak Djokovic, cycling- Peter Sagan.
