Dear Student,

Welcome to distance education at Cuesta College. My name is Antonia Torrey and I will be your instructor in this Medical Terminology course. This letter is to inform you of some important details prior to the beginning of this online class. Please read this page carefully.

Course Description

Students receive a thorough grounding in basic medical terminology through a study of root words, prefixes and suffixes and a focus on correct spelling and use of medical terms.

Student Learning Outcomes

  • Explain the basic principles of medical word building and use word parts to interpret and understand unfamiliar medical terminology.
  • Identify and use correct medical terminology to describe the anatomy of the human body, including the structures, components, and functions of the major organs and organ systems.
