Music 201 Fundamentals of Music, Cuesta College

CRN 73279     FALL 2020    Start date: 8/17/20 - 10/16/20

9 WEEK condensed semester course

John Knutson, Instructor

This course is completed entirely online including your assignments, discussions, quizzes, and exams. There are no class face to face meetings, however there may be comments shared via video conferences.

The main goal of this course is to teach you the building blocks of music composition, music reading and music notation. If you master this class you should have the necessary tools to write simple songs (pop/folk/rock). You will also have the music theory background necessary to continue as a Music Major.

This online course will require as much time as a traditional course, yet allow some flexibility to complete the work during times convenient to your schedule. Please be aware of calendar deadlines and due dates and pace yourself throughout the semester.

Pro Tip: Be organized, maximize your time management skills, and spend extra time up front getting familiar with our Canvas learning platform.
