Importing an Orientation Module to your course
HOW DO YOU GET IT? To import the items into your class, click on the commons link in your canvas navigation bar (far left), then type Cuesta College in the search box, then click on the link for the material and then click a check mark in the course you wish to import it to, then click import into your course.
You should see the two items I created, plus one the Sean Landers created
1. An orientation module that will walk your students through the tools in canvas and allow them to be successful in your course. This module can be used for face to face classes or distance education classes. It provides instruction / explanations, along with videos and step by step instructions. It will appear in your course under modules link as Unit 0: Course Orientation
2. An End of Course Survey (not a course evaluation), which is anonymous and asks students about their experience with canvas, how they navigate the course, what browser they use, and other feedback. I would appreciate if you sent me a copy of any feedback you get so we can use it to improve the students experience with canvas. It will appear in your quizzes link when you import it.
3. A Non DE Course Template that provides you place holders for your syllabus, your image, contact information, a page for links, as well as detailed instructions on how to use the template. (this very well could be used for DE courses in addition to Non DE courses).
They are saved in Creative Commons with share and share alike attribution, feel free to change and update it to fit the needs of your course, and note that in the orientation module you would need to post a discussion for the BIO - I normally post my own as a sample so they know what it should look like.
