DesignPLUS Tools for Canvas

DesignPLUS Tools integrate with Canvas so an instructor can add navigation, organization, and style to a course—in addition to the Canvas Rich Text editor.

Using the DesignPLUS toolbar, an instructor can edit specific elements in course, or create course-wide page templates to speed up course design. 

To get started, open a Canvas course and page in "Edit" mode, then click the "rocket ship" icon in the upper right corner to open the DesignPLUS sidebar.

Cidi Labs created this Canvas training course that explains how to access and use each DesignPLUS Tool. 

To get started with DesignPLUS, set a "comfort level" for what tools are displayed in the DesignPLUS Tools sidebar. Click on the icon on the upper right of the sidebar to choose settings.

The comfort level setting displays (and hides) all the available DesignPLUS tools in the sidebar. Start in Basic tools mode, and "turn on" additional tools, or choose a different Comfort Level, as you gain familiarity with the tools.
