Posting Welcome Letters
Get your welcome letter up for student viewing:
- View the welcome letter checklist Download welcome letter checklist to ensure you have included everything.
- Obtain your CRN (section number) from your division chair, division assistant or dean.
- For an ADA compliant template, download the current welcome letter template Download welcome letter template. You may edit the document to fit with your class requirements. However do not edit the format of the document, it is ADA / Section 508 Compliant. Or you may create your own, but make sure you include the items on the checklist.
- Save your document or update your ePortfolio (or personal website) with your CRN
- Use the Welcome Letter File / URL Collection Form Links to an external site.
- Provide the information as requested and Hit Submit

Important:
The name should formatted like this:
SECTION NUMBER_COURSE ID_INSTRUCTOR LAST NAME
For Example: 70486_BUS 201A_Wilshusen.PDF
IMPORTANT: Files must use the proper naming convention.
NOTE all UPPER CASE and SPACE between prefix and number.
Letters that do not follow the proper naming convention will not be properly linked! The system relies on very specific information and if not formatted properly, the letter will not be located for linking.
There is no need to convert your document to any other format you we can upload your file as a .docx. You may convert to a PDF if you wish; ensure that your letter is accessible and use the Save AS PDF and do not Print to PDF. If you wish to use the ePortfolio, you may copy and paste the welcome letter template into a content block or add document as uploaded file.
