When To Get Help For Anxiety
Normal anxiety
- Worry about money, paying bills, romantic relationships, or other life events that could typically be considered stressful.
- Feelings of embarrassment or self-consciousness in uncomfortable or awkward situations.
- Minor physical symptoms, such as sweating or rapid heartbeat, in response to certain situations.
- Fear of an object, place, or situations which may pose as a threat or some kind of danger.
- Feelings of nervousness, sadness, or a difficulty sleeping in response to a traumatic or life altering event.
Abnormal anxiety. It's time to get help
- Severe, constant, or unjustified worry which causes distress and affects quality of life.
- Avoiding social situations out of fear of becoming embarrassed, uncomfortable, humiliated, or of being judged by others.
- Spontaneous or sudden panic attacks or fear of having a panic attack.
- Irrational fear or extreme avoidance of an object, place, or situation that is not threatening or dangerous.
- Nightmares or flashbacks of a traumatic event which are recurring and disruptive.
