For this course, we are participating in Cuesta's First Day Access program, where you receive discounted course materials inside Canvas, and there are no codes. You will be billed for access as follows: You will be billed $58.81 for your required SIMnet course materials after the add/drop date (approx. 2 weeks after classes start) to your student account.
Please note that there is language with the option of "Opting Out" but you should stay with SIMnet as you will need it to complete your course work online. You do not need to go to the bookstore, unless you want to purchase the optional looseleaf textbook, which will be $37.50 in the store.
SOFTWARE
Software – This course requires the most recent copy of MS Office. The book demonstrates techniques for MS Office 2021. As a Cuesta student, you can obtain a free 1-year subscription to Office 365/Office 2021

Textbook Resources – The files needed for the text are included with the eBook. You will be prompted to download the files when it is needed for the course. The lessons are simulated using a program called SIMNet. These are online activities.
MAC Users - The textbook is designed to cover the Windows operating system. I have provided some alternative materials for MAC users; however, there are significant differences in the Office 365 program for MAC. We will be covering MS Excel and MS Access in this class. There are enough differences in Excel for Mac that it may be easier for you to plan to work on a PC either at one of the Cuesta libraries or another source. MS Access does not work on a Mac at all during the end of the class when we work on Access you will need to plan an alternative location.
CANVAS
After you have registered for the class you will find you are now registered for Canvas. You will need to follow these steps:
- From the Cuesta Website, Click on the Canvas Link
- You will be asked for a username and password. That information is the same as you myCuesta username.
- You will see all of the classes you are currently enrolled in listed in this area. If you have an additional question. I suggest reviewing the Canvas Student GuideLinks to an external site.
