Bienvenue au cours de français 201 (en ligne) !
This fully online, asynchronous course is designed for beginners and focuses on building your skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. You'll complete engaging activities and assignments using Canvas and the publisher’s online platform. You'll also get to practice your French with your classmates on a regular basis!

Time Expectations

This is a 5-unit class so you should expect to spend about 10-12 hours per week studying and completing the assignments. There are no mandatory meetings, and assignments will be due on Sundays and Thursdays, except during the summer (Sundays only).

Scheduling

There are two regular assignments during the course:

  1. Weekly video partner chats with another student in the class. I realize that this can sometimes be difficult with different schedules, but it is necessary practice. It will be your responsibility to set these up and showing up to your scheduled time.
  2. Final oral interview with me. This is a great opportunity to show me what  you've learned during the course of the semester. This will take place at the end of the term and count towards your final exam.
