Hello and welcome to ATCH 125 Engine Performance!
This course studies automotive engine performance theory and operation including fuel systems, electrical, emission control, and computer engine management systems. Focus will be on modern OBD II equipped gasoline powered vehicles. Emphasizes pollution control and driveability diagnostic techniques. Advisory: Successful completion of ATCH 152, ATCH 109, ATCH 120 or one year in the automotive trade.

Instructor Contact Expectations:The best and fastest way to contact me before class starts is my Cuesta email shown above. After class starts, all communication should be through Canvas Inbox. I will generally respond to your emails within 24 hours during weekdays only. During busy times of the semester, the response time may increase to 48 hours. On weekends, I will do my best to get back to you ASAP but I cannot guarantee a rapid response.
Learning Management System: Canvas, a web-based learning management system will provide the framework for this course. Canvas will be used to share information including presentations, discussions, grades, student data files, and to receive and send course materials. Using the Canvas communication tools, you can send messages and share materials and ideas with me and other course participants via the required discussions.
Course Environment:This hybrid course will be using Canvas to deliver lectures, quizzes and to host course discussions. There will be no in-person lecture period. Lectures will be pre-recorded and available for viewing on Canvas at any time. This will be in addition to in-person lab periods where the current course topic material is explored in a hands on environment.
