Welcome to Introduction to Engineering (Fall 2020 CRN#72260 and 74120)

Dear Student,

My name is Eltahry Elghandour , and I will be your instructor in the upcoming online lecture and lab version of Introduction To Engineering (ENGR248). This letter is to inform you of some important details prior to the commencement of this online class during thisFall.  Please make sure you do not have any conflicts with the online meetings through live zoom during the class time (Lecture and Lab) as scheduled. You must attend all the guest lectures through live zoom. Please read this page carefully!!

Tentative Test Dates (No tests will be given for this class. You will have assignments and activity during the class)

Time Requirement

The average student should set aside about 4 hours a week to be successful in this class.

Book Requirements

You will not be purchasing any course materials (textbook) for this class. All course material will be posted on Canvas, including material from guest lectures. You may need to purchase some items for the at home activities. More instructions will be provided on Canvas. 

Required: No text book

Web Site Requirements

We will be using Canvas (https://cuesta.instructure.com/) as this is the site that will be managing the course and it is required.  It will have the weekly activities including quizzes, videos, and homework assignments. Also, you are required to attend a guest lectures form different engineering departments through live zoom.  I will send you more information as we get closer to the start of the class.

How to use Canvas

Canvas is an online classroom management system that this class will be using.  For more information on how to use it check out the "How-To" links here:

 Proctoring

No Proctor will be required for this class. There are no provisions for anyone who misses any of these activities and assignments.  Let me know if you are having problems with anything related to the course.
